A Short (and hopefully sweet) political comment

GE 2015(3)

On Cooling Off Day, the briefest of political arguments:

1. In any polity, you either have a dominant party or you have gridlock.

2. Tiny Singapore cannot afford gridlock.

3. Therefore, we need a dominant party.

4. The question then is, how dominant should they be?

5. If they’re too dominant, it is not good as they will become complacent and may abuse their power.

Conclusion: vote in enough Opposition members to check the PAP, but keep them dominant.

The final question is, how many is “enough”? And how can each of us vote to achieve this desired outcome? I welcome your comments.
